GLENDORA, Calif.--California Day-Fresh Foods voluntarily recalled all unpasteurized fresh juice in six states because of possible salmonella contamination. The recalled juices included "Naked" brand orange, grapefruit, lemonade, strawberry lemonade, old-fashioned lemonade and Tangerine Scream juices; Von's orange and grapefruit juices; Ferraro's orange juice and Trader Joe's blood orange juice.

Fourteen cases of salmonella poisoning were reported in Colorado, Nevada and Southern California. The products were recalled in those areas as well as Arizona, Oregon and Washington. They all read "best if used by May 4" on the packaging. The company's pasteurized juices have not been recalled and are unaffected by the action.

Salmonella infection is marked by vomiting, diarrhea, fever, severe headache and abdominal pain. The company is online at www.nakedjuice.com. It has posted news about the recall prominently on its opening page and has been forthcoming about the steps consumers should take to return the juice and to protect their health. The company can also be reached at (888) 836-1823.
