QUEBEC Fruit dOr  Nutraceuticals and Tab Labs Inc. partnered to create a chewing gum with Oral Cran for oral health. Available to brand marketers, this all-natural prototype uses organic cranberry to support gum health, reduce plaque and freshen breath. The sugar-free gum is available in a pomegranate-raspberry flavor.

Fruit d'Or worked with Tab Labs to develop a stable, functional chewing gum; cranberry's proanthocyanidins (PACs) are inherently heat sensitive, requiring special technology for development.

"Therefore, no heat or moisture are used  in the manufacturing of Oral Cran gum. The result is a gum containing a very high survival rate of the PACs, and because there is no moisture in the finished  product, shelf life is extended," said Tom Holtgen, CEO of Tab Labs.

Tab Labs does not use a synthetic gum base made of polymers. Instead, the company's base include chicle, from the sapodilla tree, allowing the final product to be labeled "all natural."
