geniVida® Reduces Menopausal Symptoms
October 20, 2010
Parsippany, N.J.A new study presented by James Elliott at the 9th International Symposium on the Role of Soy in Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention and Treatment meeting in Washington represented a breakthrough in the management of menopausal symptoms. The clinical study, conducted in collaboration with KGK Synergize Inc. London, Ontario, was a randomized, placebo-controlled, double blind design in which 84 healthy postmenopausal women were given either geniVida® or a placebo. After 12 weeks the women on geniVida had a 51-percent reduction on hot flashes and night sweats compared to only 27 percent for the women in the placebo.
Lynda Doyle, director of marketing new nutritional ingredients & dietary supplements said: Were excited about this new research. This study offers new hope for women who suffer from hot flashes and are seeking a non-hormonal solution but have not had success with black cohosh or other common remedies. This new evidence complements another recent study which showed that a geniVida Bone Blend significantly increased bone in the hip of postmenopausal women versus bone loss in those taking a calcium placebo. Together these studies support need to launch new product to meet both short and long term needs of mature women."
