Hansen Sales Energized by Energy Drinks

CORONA, Calif.Hansen Natural Corp. (NASDAQ:HANS) reported March 29that for its fiscal year (FY03), ended Dec. 31, sales rose 19.9 percent to$138.5 million from $115.5 million logged in FY02. Net income rose to $5.9million, or $.55 earned per diluted share, compared to FY02s $3.0 million, or$.29 per diluted share.

According to the company, the record sales were due to a strong performanceexhibited by the companys Monster Energy drink in 16-oz. cans, which wasintroduced in 2002. Strong sales were also seen with the companys naturalsodas, Deuce energy drinks, Junior Juice and apple juice. Decreased sales wereseen for energy drinks in 8.3-oz. cans, Smoothies, Energade energy sportsdrinks and teas.

Building on its past success, the company is currently launching a new energydrink in a 16-oz. can under the Lost brand name.
