Hosoda Nutritional ~ Melinjo Resveratrol

FUKUI PREFECTURE, Japan The nutrient ingredients company Hosoda Nutritional introduced Melinjo Resveratrol, a natural resveratrol source, to the global supplement market.

While the product has been sold in Japan for several years, Hososda will now offer Melinjo to the United States and other major global markets. Melinjo Resveratrol is extracted from the seeds of the melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) tree, and its seeds, leaves and flowers are used as ingredients in many traditional Indonesian dishes.

The melinjo seed contains an abundance of resveratrol (stilbenoid), mainly in form of dimers (Gnetin C). Clinical documentation and new studies continue to emerge on the plant and its properties, showing its anti-oxidative and anti-viral activities may reduce visceral fat and increase stamina. In addition, previous research shows consuming resveratrol could help prevent memory loss.
