InterHealths Zychrome Wins Best New Ingredient Award

BENICIA, Calif.InterHealth announced its Zychrome form of chromium received the NutrAward for best new ingredient at Nutracon 2012 on March 8, 2012. Industry experts, scientists, nutritionists and Nutracon attendees voted among the four NutrAward best new ingredient finalists based on scientific merit, efficacy, market potential, safety, innovation and the ability to increase market credibility.

Preliminary clinical research shows Zychrome is twice as effective as chromium picolinate in supporting insulin function. InterHealths director of R&D, James Lugo, Ph.D., accepted the NutrAward on behalf of InterHealth. The blood sugar health market has not seen anything new in more than 20 years. Zychrome will reinvigorate this market as the next generation in chromium supplementation. This is a step in the right direction in managing insulin function and ultimately blood sugar control for millions of Americans," Lugo said.InterHealth is honored to be chosen as the NutrAward winner by industry leaders and colleagues," Dr. Lugo said. The NutrAward program was created more than 10 years ago to reward and recognize companies that are investing in rigorous and measurable scientific studies to prove the efficacy of their proprietary ingredients, products or technologies.

InterHealth is also sponsoring an education session at SupplySide MarketPlace, "Expert Predictions for the Blood Sugar Health Market." Greg Stephens, Windrose Partners, will provide perspective and market data on the size of the disease and current dietary supplement products that have proven successful.
