Iowa City Uses EpiCor in Corp Wellness

ANKENY, IowaAnkeny renewed its commitment to Embria Health Sciences' Corporate Wellness Initiative after a successful trial launch in 2011. The city used EpiCor to improve overall wellness during the cold and flu season, thereby decreasing healthcare costs.

As part of the corporate wellness program, 100 willing Ankeny employees received  a six-month supply of EpiCor supplements for half off. The city's human resource department recorded a 28-percent decrease in cold, flu and upper respiratory illness doctor visits compared to the same employees the previous year. The participants took a 500 mg EpiCor capsule, which Embria claims supports a balanced immune system.

EpiCor received the Scientific Excellence Award from SupplySide West in 2010, and the Future Award from the Nutrition Business Journal.
