KalmCold Reduces Cold, Flu Symptoms

KARNATAKA, India—Indian dietary supplement producer, Natural Remedies Pvt. Ltd., recently completed a clinical study on KalmCold™. The study was designed as a randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled investigation of KalmCold versus a suitable placebo for five days. The study was successful in demonstrating safety and efficacy of KalmCold in assisting the relief of cold and flu symptoms. A total of 220 adults of either sex with uncomplicated upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) were recruited for the study and were randomly assigned to receive either a placebo or of KalmCold (200 mg/d in two divided doses). KalmCold was 52.7 percent or 2.1 times more effective than placebo on various symptoms of cold and flu. KalmCold was well-tolerated with no serious adverse events. Prior to this trial LD50 analysis, Ames test, in vitro mammalian chromosome aberration test, in vitro micronucleus test and Brine Shrimp Lethality test were performed by R&D at Natural Remedies confirming the safe use of KalmCold.
