Kemin, Ball Enter Zeaxanthin Distribution Agreement

DES MOINES, IowaKemin, Ball Horticultural Company and Ball's wholly owned subsidiary, Chrysantis, Inc., announced they have entered into a strategic partnership that includes an exclusive license to Kemin of Ball's marigold hybrids that contain high levels of zeaxanthin. This partnership will allow only Kemin to offer worldwide, plant-based dietary forms zeaxanthin for all uses, including nutritional ingredient, functional food and personal care applications. Under the agreement, Ball and Chrysantis will also continue to develop new and improved marigold hybrids that offer high levels of dietary zeaxanthin.

In April, Kemin began construction on its new research and development facility designed to provide laboratory bench space for approximately 60 scientists.
