SAN DIEGO— In a recent pilot study, 20 adults with diabetes and mildly to moderately elevated cholesterol levels, who were taking oral diabetes medications, were randomly assigned to receive either DiabetinolT, an all-natural citrus dietary supplement developed by KGK Synergize, or a placebo twice daily for three months. After the intervention, the group receiving DiabtinolT showed a significant 19 percent reduction in glucose intolerance while the placebo group had no significant improvements in glucose tolerance. Similarly, an animal study involved 12 hamsters that were fed a high-fructose diet to induce diabetes-like symptoms; six hamsters received DiabetinolT for 42 days and the other six received no treatment. The DiabetinolT-treated animals showed improvements in blood glucose, insulin, cholesterol and triglyceride levels. KGK Synergize presented these two studies at the Experimental Biology Annual Meeting on April 9, 2008.
