Life Extension and Scientific Food Solutions Create FAST-C®

FORT LAUNDERDALE, Fla.Life Extension and Scientific Food Solutions have partnered up to create FAST-Cinnovation®, an ingredient that combines an absorbing ascorbic acid mineral blend and Sabinsa Corp.'s black pepper extract BioPerine®.

According to Life Extension, FAST-C® features a proprietary blend of alkalizing minerals that is an almost completely acid-neutralized formula made for sensitive stomachs. The formulation also includes Sabinsa's BioPerine®, a multi-patented, black pepper extract that significantly accelerates vitamin C absorption, shortening the time to peak plasma concentration and dihydroquercetin.

In an unpublished study, researchers at Miami Research Associates concluded that 60 minutes into the FAST-C composition generated a significantly higher vitamin C blood increase than a leading, enhanced-absorption vitamin C product. A second clinical trial was also conducted to compare two different variations of the formula in FAST-C with another leading, enhanced brand. One of the FAST-C formulations produced higher blood concentrations of vitamin C after 30, 60 and 90 minutes.
