Marine EFAs May Support Learning in Autistic Individuals

WATSONVILLE, Calif.Fish oilsupplementation may improve language and learning skills in children with autismand Aspergers syndrome, according to results of a pilot trial reported in Autism-Aspergers Digest (January-February 2005). In athree-month, openlabel study, 18 children ranging from 3 to 10 years of agereceived daily supplementation with essential fatty acids (EFA) as ProEFAfrom Nordic Naturals. The childrens learning skills were evaluated at 45 and90 days; results showed significant increases in scores in each of the areasmeasured showing benefits to language and learning skills.
