MTI, TSI Join Proprietary Product Efforts

AMES, IowaMetabolic Technologies Inc. (MTI) and TSI Health Sciences, Missoula, Montana, partnered to bring more innovative proprietary products to the marketplace. The combined effort will allow both companies to develop and market new products faster and more effectively, according to Larry Kolb, TSI Health Sciences U.S. operations president.

Shawn Baier, MTI chief operating officer, added, The goals for MTI and TSI are to collaborate and create clinically tested and proven ingredients protected by manufacturing expertise, knowhow or process patents, composition and use patents, brands and trademarks."

MTI develops nutritional products; its first product was beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate (HMB), which has been shown to help both casual and competitive athletes improve their strength and endurance as well as having applications in general health and medical nutrition. 

TSI Health specialized in manufacturing processes and develops and produces nutraceutical, food and pharmaceutical products sold in more than 30 countries. The company offers integrated supply chain valueconsisting of manufacturing capabilities ranging from ingredient production, drum-to-hopper formulations and production of the final finished dose product and ingredient innovation. TSI obtained self-affirmed GRAS (generally regarded as safe) status for the use of its PUREFLEX® Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium products in 2010.
