CAPE TOWN, South AfricaDynamic Extractions and Formulations (DEF) has successfully developed a proprietary method to covert oils into nutritious, stabilized fine powders. Capable of yielding high purities, the DEF Oil Powder (OP) range is suitable for a number of applications, including smoothies, cereals, baby foods, meal replacements, bars and more.

DEF is the African license holder for the patented Dynamic Cellular Distribution (DCD) process. Through DCD, the company was able to micronize the lipid molecules of omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 oils and raw ingredients like whole flax seed, as well as introduce vitamin E tocopherals allowing DEF to achieve an almost 100% homogenous blend.

The DEF Oil Powder range includes, a 46%-50% pure eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) omega-3 OP, a borage OP with 17%-18% pure gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) content, a flax seed OP with 35% pure omega-3 content, an extra virgin coconut OP and a 70% pure medium-chain triglyceride OP for weight loss and sports categories.

This process can be applied to all food and pharma-grade oils. These new antioxidant oil emulsions are dried to a powder form using another proprietary process that makes the finished product stable with a natural shelf life of 18 to 24 months.
