SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif.NHK Laboratories donated 400 bottles of childrens multivitamin tablets to impoverished families in Tsinjoarivo, Madagascar. NHK worked with SADABE, a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Madagascar, on the donation.

M. Amirul Karim, CEO of NHK Laboratories Inc., said the donation is part of an ongoing social responsibility initiative at the company. As manufacturers of wellness products, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to espouse health locally and globally," he said. This donation will provide hundreds of children in Tsinjoarivo with essential vitamins and nutrients necessary for their physiological growth and development."

Karen Samonds, co-founder of SADABE, commented that the donation will have a huge impact on the health of the families. The recipient families are living in extremely remote areas, typically four to six hours on foot from the nearest market, and in an agriculturally marginal landscape," she said. The organization is planning to host a woman and childrens health workshop this year, and will also distribute the NHK supplements.
