DEVON, Pa.--Nurture Inc. introduced OatVantage,a highly concentrated soluble oat fiber that may provide a cholesterol-loweringbenefit at a lower dose in functional food and nutraceutical products.OatVantage contains 50 percent beta-glucan by weight.
"This enables just 1.5 grams of OatVantage to economicallydeliver 0.75 grams of beta-glucan, a soluble fiber," said H. GriffithParker, chairman of Nurture (www.nurture-inc.com).
Foods containing 0.75 grams of beta-glucan per serving can makea health claim for soluble fiber reducing the risk of heart disease. OatVantageis derived from non-genetically modified oats and is available as awater-soluble, free-flowing powder with a neutral taste.
