PARAMUS, N.J.Nutraceuticals International Group developed its new supplement, SelectSIEVE® Apple PCQ, to aid in weight management, menopause and hypoglycemia.

SelectSIEVE® Apple PCQ is isolated by 100 percent apple juice through an eco-sustainable process based on soft conditions. Three main functional polyphenolsphlorizin, chlorogenic acid and quercetinmake up the supplement and act in a synergic system through different metabolic pathways. These polyphenols are isolated from the fruit in glycosilated form, guaranteeing its natural sources and improving stability, bioavailability and digestibility.

Phlorizin, an inhibitor of glucose, reduces glucose and calorie absorption, while chlorogenic acid controls glucose release at a hepatic level in the liver. Quercetin inhibits the PPAR gene responsible for differentiation of preadipocytes and adipocytes, which reduces fat accumulation. The PPAR gene plays an essential role in the regulation of cellular differentiation, development and metabolism.

SelectSIEVE® Apple PCQ components reduce intestinal glucose absorption by SGLT1/GLUT modulation (receptor affinity greater than glucose). They help to regulate gastrointestinal hormones at hepatic levels, as well as insulin secretion. In addition, Apple PCQ components contribute to prevention of cardiovascular disease by inhibiting LDL oxidation and cholesterol assimilation. Finally, the components influence the differentiation between preadipocytes into mature adipocytes, which are predisposed to accumulate fat.

Applications for this supplement include weight management, drainage, menopause, glucose absorption modulation and glycemic index control.
