Organic Valley's CEO Receives Award

LA FORGE, Wis.--George Siemon, the chief executive officer ofOrganic Valley (www.organicvalley.com),is the 2001 recipient of the Cliff Adler "Heart in Business" award.The award was presented to him by Bruce Nierenberg, president of BIN Sales, at aceremony held during Natural Products Expo East in Washington, D.C., in October.

"For more than two decades, George has worked to make organic farming astrong, vibrant way of life in America," Nierenberg said. "His senseof stewardship for the earth truly serves as an inspiration to us all."Siemon, who is also an organic farmer, has served on the National OrganicStandards Board (NOSB) and has worked to promote organic, sustainableagriculture and family farming.

The award was named in honor of Cliff Adler, a vice president of Eden Foods,who died in a car accident, and is designed to pay tribute to those individualswho have made outstanding contributions to the natural products industry. Pastrecipients include Lynda Sadler, Traditional Medicinals; Michael McGuffin,American Herbal Products Association; and Katherine DiMatteo, Organic TradeAssociation.
