Potential Benefits of Lycopene
LONDON--Research presented at King's College here on March 27 suggests that dietscontaining high levels of lycopene may reduce the risk of certain cancers and heartdisease. An unpublished study by the University of Toronto found women with breast cancerhave low levels of lycopene and high levels of oxidation; higher levels of lycopene mayhave an effect on "oxidative stress," a factor for cancer, heart disease andaging.
