GENEVA,Pycnogenol® (from Horphag Research), an antioxidant plant extract from the bark of the French maritime pine tree, helped decrease climacteric symptoms of menopausal women, in a study conducted by the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Keiju Medical Center and Keiju Health Service Center in Japan (J Reproductive Medicine. 2013 Jan;58(1):39-46).

Women experience a process known as perimenopause and that process will lead to menopause. Perimenopause lasts an average of four years with various symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, night-time sweating, palpitations, depression, anxiety and memory problems.

Results showed Pycnogenol had a significantly positive effect for all the participating women with perimenopause and improved all symptoms, especially vasomotor and insomnial sleep problems.

Pycnogenol® is known to be a natural supplement for women who suffer uncomfortable symptoms of menopause. It is also beneficial to skin, allergies, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, heart and circulation issues, hypertension and more.

Last November, a study discovered Pycnogenol was also beneficial toward reducing asthma symptoms.
