SEPPIC Creates Nutrition Division

PARISSEPPIC has created a nutrition division dedicated to extending the company's expertise in specialty ingredients, coating and formulation to companies in the dietary supplement and functional food industries. The company has added a new sales team and R&D resources dedicated to nutrition, and strengthened its biological applications laboratory to develop new active ingredients.

According to the company, the move extends SEPPIC's expertise in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulation, film coating, biological and global regulatory areas to help develop new products that meet customer needs in the health and wellness area. Target areas for SEPPIC's nutrition division include nutricosmetics, cardiovascular health, sports nutrition, healthy aging and weight management.

SEPPIC, a division of Air Liquide Healthcare, is exhibiting at Vitafoods Europe this week, highlighting several ingredients with application to the nutrition industry. The offerings include CERAMOSIDES, a range of moisturizing, nutritional and anti-aging active ingredients; REBATEN and STEVITEN, a range of natural sweeteners made with stevia extracts; and SEPICOAT, a new coating agent. CERAMOSIDES won a SupplySide West Scientific Excellence Award in 2011.
