SOCMA Names Informex Chairman
NEW ORLEANS--The Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA)named David Layton of KCMO Inc. as the chairman of INFORMEX 2001. Informex is acustom and specialty chemical trade show that is sponsored by SOCMA. Jim Datsonof Lakes Fine Chemicals was named vice chairman.
In addition, six new members were appointed to the Informex Committee. Theywere Bill Arnold of ChemFine, Andy Clark of Eastman Fine Chemicals Inc., GaryConte of Aceto Corp., James Elder of The Dow Chemical Co., Gary Hess ofChemDesign Corp. and Gerald Schultz of VanDeMark.
This year's show took place Jan. 30 to Feb. 2 in New Orleans. It featured 418exhibitors and approximately 3,700 attendees.
