Solae Increases Prices, Rebrands Lecithin Line

ST. LOUISThe Solae Co.increased the price and changed the name of its Solec Soy Lecithin productportfolio. The price increase, effective Nov. 1, ranged between 5 and 15percent.The company increased prices due to the recent rise in energy andtransportation costs.

Were doing everything within our power to enhance energyconservation and improve manufacturing efficiencies, said Jack Self, globalbusiness leadSolec Soy Lecithin. Were also testing new processes and technology aimedat lessening our reliance on natural gas.

The company said it is renaming the Solec line to helpincrease customer recognition of the line. No alterations will be made to theactual product during re-branding, although visual changes will be implemented.

We are introducing the Solec Soy Lecithin product line tobe more customer and distributor friendly, said Jane Schulenburg, globalmarketing director for Solae lecithin. By establishing an umbrella brandname, our customers will be able to shop quicker and with less confusion whensearching for our lecithin products.
