WASHINGTON--Whey and soy proteins may help prevent breast cancer. Researchersat the Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center compared the protective effects ofsoy and whey proteins against chemically induced tumors in the milk producingglands of rats. Approximately 50 percent fewer rats had mammary cancer when feda diet containing processed whey protein, and 25 percent fewer rats had tumorswhen fed a soy protein diet.
