SupplySide Asia Set For April in Tokyo
PHOENIX--Virgo Publishing and Tokyo-based International Nutraceutical NetworkInc. (INNI) announced plans to produce the first SupplySide Asia Conference andSymposium April 2 to 4 in Tokyo. The event will be held at the Tokyo AmericanClub, an exclusive gathering point for international business. Major facets ofSupplySide Asia include a two-track seminar program, a tabletop exhibit, andnetworking lunches and receptions.
"This is an unprecedented opportunity for leaders in our industry toform and develop relationships with their counterparts in the East," saidJon Benninger, group publisher of the Natural Products Division at VirgoPublishing.
There will be 30 sponsorship spaces, which include a tabletop display,assistance with shipping and logistics, pre-event training on Japanese businesspractices, access to all seminars, lunches and networking events, interpretersat the event and more. Virgo and INNI are also offering 10 speaking positions onthe official education program for companies interested in giving scientificpresentations. Seminars will feature simultaneous translation, and showmaterials will be printed in both English and Japanese.

Confirmed speakers at SupplySide Asia include Paddy Spence, president andchief executive officer (CEO), SPINS, San Francisco; Jeff Hilton, partner,Integrated Marketing Group, Salt Lake City; David Seckman, executive director,National Nutritional Foods Association, Newport Beach, Calif.; Susan Haeger,president, Citizens For Health, Boulder, Colo.; Marc Ullman, partner, Ullman,Shapiro and Ullman, New York; and Thomas Slaga, Ph.D., president/CEO of AMCCancer Research Center and deputy director of University of Colorado CancerCenter. Additional speakers will be announced as they are confirmed, and theevent will include a total of 20 seminars and panel discussions.
SupplySide Asia, to be held annually, follows in the footsteps of thesuccessful SupplySide West and SupplySide East trade shows that take place inthe United States. The first SupplySide event was held in 1997 and provided ahigh-quality forum for executives in the supply and manufacturing channels toconnect.
