PHOENIX--Virgo Publishing, publisher of HSR: Health Supplement Retailer magazine, announced that totalhealth FOR LONGEVITY magazine will be the official Consumer Media Sponsor for HSR's Healthy Product Expo, scheduled for May 6 and 7 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, N.J.

As the Consumer Media Sponsor, totalhealth FOR LONGEVITY magazine's editor and publisher, Lyle Hurd, will play an advisory role in developing the education program at HSR's Healthy Product Expo. The two-day education program features two tracks of sessions, the Product Science Track and the Business Strategies Track.

"totalhealth FOR LONGEVITY brings a wealth of knowledge and relationships to HSR's Healthy Product Expo," said Jon Benninger, director of business development at Virgo Publishing. "The list of totalhealth FOR LONGEVITY's associate and contributing editors reads like an industry Who's Who, and we look forward to having many of these well-known authors, professors and researchers speak at our event."

Hurd noted the launch of HSR's Health Product Expo is a natural extension of Virgo Publishing's mission. "Over the past few years, Virgo Publishing and HSR magazine have distinguished themselves as leaders in providing ingredient suppliers, manufacturers and health food stores with incisive information on all facets of management, communication and customer relations within our industry, he said.

The Product Science Track gives retailers the opportunity to learn from experts and educate staff on answering customer questions about supplement interactions, product recommendations, condition-specific supplements and much more. Confirmed speakers include Hyla Cass, M.D., assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine; Jacob Teitelbaum, M.D., director of the Annapolis Research Center for Effective CFS/Fibromyalgia Therapies and author of From Fatigued to Fantastic!; and Gene Bruno, MHS, dean of academics, Huntington College of Health Sciences. The Business Strategies Track includes seminars dedicated to informing retailers on how to increase profitability and navigate operations successfully. Capitalizing on consumer trends, creating an online presence, hot new retail technologies and additional topics will be examined.

In addition to the two-track education program, this Northeast regional event will offer an exhibit hall featuring a variety of products including dietary supplements, functional foods, personal care and many other products consumers need to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Healthy product retail decision-makers across all categories including independent retailers, chain health retailers, natural food retailers, herb/botanical retailers, independent and chain pharmacies, supermarkets, grocery stores, wholesalers and distributors will attend.
