HOUSTONUnibar Corporation is now the exclusive U.S. distributor of CurQnetic, an enhanced-bioavailable 80-percent curcumin ingredient manufactured by Synthite Industries, Kolencher, India. Unibar has also begun discussions with dietary supplement and functional foods manufacturers in the United States to launch products with CurQnetic.

CurQnetic is comprised of curcumin powder, vanilla and ginger extract. The addition of these herbal ingredients is designed to increase the bioavailability and bioactivity of curcumin. According to Unibar, CurQnetic curcumin has been the subject of in vitro and in vivo efficacy studies that supports immune function and healthy inflammatory response.

Curcumin extract currently in the marketplace is 95 percent total curcuminoids," says Sevanti Mehta, Unibar president. These curcumin products appear to have poor absorption, distribution, excretion and rapid metabolism, creating a need for an enhanced-bioavailable ingredient."

Mehta added the primary market for CurQnetic includes consumers seeking a natural, research-supported option to fight aging and chronic diseases. It may also be used by consumers looking for a natural retail product alternative to NSAIDs for short-term relief of aches and pains."

A Unibar Corporation representative will be available to discuss CurQnetic at the FCC Products booth 16028 at SupplySide West in Las Vegas, Oct. 12 to 13.
