Wessanen Acquires Food for Health

AMSTELVEEN, The Netherlands--Tree of Life, the U.S. distribution arm of Koninklijke Wessanen, in March acquired the distribution business of Food for Health from its parent company, AMCON Distributing Co. Food for Health operates out of Phoenix and Melbourne, Fla., with annual sales of $50 million.
Food For Health will retain its natural foods retail stores, comprised of the Akins' chain in Oklahoma and the Chamberlin's chain in Florida. The acquisition will directly contribute to the earnings per share excluding amortization of goodwill.
