COLUMBUS, Ohio--Researchers from Oregon State University reported at the American Chemical Society spring meeting that white tea may be a stronger anticarcinogen than green tea. Researchers theorize that processing tea may oxidize polyphenols, reducing its antioxidant benefits. White tea, which comes from the silver needle plant, is more lightly processed than green tea, which may make it a better cancer fighter. Preliminary results indicate that white tea may be particularly effective against colon cancer. For more information about the study, contact Roderick Dashwood at [email protected].
