ST. LOUISZeaVision LLC launched an online campaign, the AMD Challenge, to enhance awareness among consumers and health care professionals about age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the leading cause of blindness in people over age 55. Site visitors can play a scratch-off game that shows what AMD does to vision, learn about associated risk factors, and enter to win prizes.

Chris Barber, vice president of sales and marketing, ZeaVision, said, As the company that patented zeaxanthin for rebuilding macular pigment in the eye, we have business and social interests in creating awareness around this debilitating disease. People can see what AMD looks like and learn about the risk factors in a fun and interactive way by taking the AMD Challenge.

ZeaVision holds several patents on the use of zeaxanthin, which it supplies in its range of EyePromise® supplements; the company also markets the QuantifEYE testing device and Eye-Q, an AMD risk management program.
