Blueberry Milk May Lower Blood Pressure

HELSINKI--On Oct. 5, Finland's largest dairy group, Valio, launched ablueberry milk product. According to the company, "Evolus" is thefirst blood-pressure lowering food product in Europe and has been the subject oftwo independent, placebo-controlled, double-blind studies, including one studyby the Finnish National Public Health Institute. Test subjects who had slightlyelevated blood pressure were given 1.5 dl of Evolus per day for eight weeks.With blood pressure measured weekly, both diastolic and systolic blood pressurefell further than in the placebo groups, according to Valio.
