Carotech Highlights Palm Tocotrienol at IFT

EDISON, N.J.Carotech Inc. will be exhibiting its palm tocotrienol complex at the 2011 IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

Palm tocotrienol complex has received FDAs final notification of no objection for GRAS (generally recognized as safe) in April 2010, allowing Carotechs Tocomin® to be used in food and beverage products. The company noted new and emerging research studies reveal natural full-spectrum palm tocotrienol complex offers more significant health improvement potentials, compared to the conventional vitamin E alpha-tocopherol.

Carotech added clinical trials and human studies using the patented and bioenhanced palm tocotrienol complex Tocomin SupraBio® showed reduction of total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol concentration, enhanced immune response after vaccination, helps in resolving non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and promotes hair growth. Tocomin SupraBio® is currently being used in an on-going largest clinical trial on tocotrienol for its effects in neuro- and cardioprotection.

Carotech will also present TocoBev15%, a water dispersible powder form of natural full spectrum tocotrienol/tocopherol complex, specially produced for functional drinks and powdered beverages. TocoBev 15% is produced from Tocomin® natural full spectrum palm tocotrienol complex.
