LONDON Eau Plus developed VPURE® and OmegaH2O® long-chain omega-3 essential fatty acid (EFA) ingredients using sustainably grown algae and a new production technology resulting in less expensive, more stable, clearer and more potent ingredients for food and beverage manufacturing. Containing high concentrations of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), VPURE and OmegaH2O are stable, eco-friendly and economically viable alternatives to both plant and marine oils. According to the company, it has increased its manufacturing output using new production technology, while also upping the DHA and EPA concentrations and enhancing stability, allowing the use of the ingredients in a wide range of products. A clear, flavor-free version is also available for beverage formulation. Available algal concentrations are 60 percent DHA oil for nutraceuticals; 40 percent DHA oil micronized for dispersion as a liquid into water, milk and juices with a shelf life over six months; and a 15 percent to 20 percent EPA oil micronized for dispersion into beverages.
