MILAN Leucoselect® and Enovita® (both grape seed extracts from Indena) were certified kosher by KLBD (also known as the Kashrut Division of the London Beth Din). The certification for Indena's grape seed extracts required site inspections by Rabbi Akiva Padwa, director of certification, KLBD, who reviewed the process from harvest, through preparation of the seeds to the extraction of the polyphenols.

KLBD, London, has certified a number of Indena ingredients, according to Indena.

Supplements containing grape seed extracts have long been available in the market and functional foods have been introduced in recent years. Grape seed extracts are a rich source of a complex mixture of polyphenols, containing a characteristic signature of catechins, procyanidins and proanthocyanidins.

A 14-week clinical trial showed Leucoselect protected low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol from oxidative stress in heavy smokers.
