BRATTLEBORO, V.T.NutraGenesis introduced an updated version of its antioxidant superfruit ingredient, Wellberry®. This GRAS (generally recognized as safe) affirmed nutraceutical ingredient contains a combination of Indian gooseberry and Transport C-Plus, an effective form of vitamin C containing alpha lipoic acid (ALA). Transport C-Plus provides enhanced antioxidant activity without causing stomach upset. Wellberry features high antioxidant levels which have been shown to support anti-aging, immunity and cellular protection. The updated version of Wellberry possesses an oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) value of 2895 umole TE/gwhich equates to double the level of ascorbic acid.

Indian gooseberry has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine and is considered to be a restorative tonic. Its antioxidant properties are derived from its low molecular weight hydrolysable tannin polyphenols that are extracted and concentrated into the patented gooseberry extract used to make Wellberry. These bioactives possess a recycling mechanism which provides long lasting antioxidant activity. Indian gooseberrys adaptogenic properties help balance bodily functions and enhance Wellberrys wellness profile.
