Vegetarian Omega-3

BEER SHEVA, IsraelLycoRed introduced a vegetarian omega-3 ingredient called Lyc-O-Mega 10 AL. It is produced from high-quality docosagexenoic acid (DHA) algae oil, making it free of fish odor and suitable for vegetarians. Lyc-O-Mega 10 AL is designed especially for the bakery and confectionery industries. Successful trials have been conducted on chocolates, crackers and bread that were fortified with Lyc-O-Mega 10 AL. For example, a 5-g chocolate tablet contained 5 mg of DHA without affecting its taste profile. LycoReds microencapsulation technology enables fortification of baked goods that may not have been traditionally enriched with omega-3. This vegetarian form of omega-3 is sustainable and suitable for vegetarians, and also for children who may be more sensitive to taste.
