AUSTIN, Texas—HerbDay, the ninth annual celebration of herbalism and how herbs can enhance health, beauty and cooking, will take place worldwide May 3.
HerbDay events include lectures, workshops, herb walks, cooking demonstrations, in-store events, presentations by herbal product companies and more held at retail stores, schools, farms, botanical gardens, garden centers and public parks worldwide. The HerbDay DC Encuentro in Washington, D.C. will feature a potluck, seed/herb swap along with live music and performances. A full list of events can be found on the HerbDay events page.
"People around the world have passed down the long tradition of using herbs, from simple teas to complex extracts, for self-care and improvement," said American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) president Michael McGuffin, founder and executive director of the American Botanical Council. "HerbDay events celebrate these essential botanicals and raise awareness of reliable herbal resources in the community, including herbalists and other experts, who can help participants make informed choices to improve and maintain their health."
The HerbDay Coalition, which founded the celebration, is comprised of the American Botanical Council, American Herbalists Guild, American Herbal Pharmacopoeia, American Herbal Products Association, and United Plant Savers.
