Aloecorp Expands AloeVera Production

BROOMFIELD, Colo.--Aloecorp purchased an additional 200 acres of land in Santa Garcia, Mexico, to expand its aloe cultivation. Irrigation rights were included with the new land, which is located near Aloecorp's existing 1,200-acre plantation and processing facility in Gonzales, Mexico. The new site is expected to yield one million aloe plants per year, raising Aloecorp's annual harvesting total to 8.5 million aloe plants.

The company also purchased an additional 160 acres of land at its Lyford, Texas, processing facility. The land has been designated a historical site by the state of Texas and is believed to have been the first aloe plantation in the world. Aloecorp (www.aloecorp.com) is planning improvements to the land, including creation of an aloe garden and museum.
