Baobab Focus of SupplySide VendorWorks Talk

LAS VEGASCino Rossi, the co-founder and vice president of R&D for Physion, an Italian drug delivery company founded in 1990, will discuss baobab, its history, nutritional values and potential product applications at a SupplySide West VendorWorks presentation, free to all registrants, on Wed., Oct. 12 at 8:00 a.m. Throughout the show, which runs Oct. 10 to 14 at the Venetian Sands Plaza and Expo in Las Vegas, Rossi will at the Tiger Botanicals Booth #17078.

Rossi and Physion have been associated with Baobab Fruit Co. Senegal, which worked with Tiger Botanicals to develop baobab products, for the past eight years. Physion and the Baobab Fruit Co. Senegal have collaborated on the development of several baobab products, most notably baobab seed oil extracts. Rossi is a frequent speaker on drug delivery technology, scientific development and corporate marketing at industry events and conferences.

Tiger Botanicals will be featuring a range of botanical products, including baobab fruit powder and pure baobab seed oil at their booth during show hours.

Tiger Botanicals is a U.S. importer and distributor of baobab and other African botanical ingredients such as rooibos, hoodia and irvingia to the food, beverage, nutritional and cosmetic industries. Baobab fruit pulp powder is GRAS (generally recognized as safe), Novel Foods approved and available in NOP-certified organic form. It can be used safely as a natural, functional ingredient in a variety of products including juices, yogurts, cereals, energy drinks, smoothies, ice creams, fruit powders, chewable tablets, fruit bars, etc. In addition, baobab seed oil, leaves and bark can all be used in the beauty and cosmetics industry to manufacture creams, masks, shampoos, conditioners, lotions and exfoliates.

A recent report from ConsumerLab.com noted baobab has been shown to be safe for use in natural products.
