Botanical Laboratories Purchases Zand

BOULDER, Colo.--McZand Corp., based here, was purchased by Botanical Laboratories Inc.in Ferndale, Wash., on May 19; financial details were not disclosed. Under the terms ofthe partnership agreement, Botanical Laboratories will manufacture the herbal productswhile Janet Zand will continue to assist in the formulation and marketing of the Zand andHerbs for Kids brands.

Botanical Laboratories is a pharmaceutical manufacturer of oral and topical dose formsof OTC homeopathic medicines, herbal products and specialty supplements. Among its brandsare CompliMed (sold through licensed health care practitioners) and NatraBio (sold throughnatural products retailers). According to Jeff Kuklenski, marketing manager of BotanicalLaboratories, the partnership will allow Janet Zand to develop new formulas and furtherdevelop the brands with the financial and manufacturing resources of BotanicalLaboratories behind it.
