ProAlgaZyme May Benefit Heart,Immune System
TEMPE, Ariz.ProAlgaZyme(from Health Enhancement Products Inc.; www.heponline.com) may lower the risk of stroke and heartattack and support compromised immune systems, according to the company.
In a study conducted at Arizona State University, Tempe,ProAlgaZyme, a plasmin-like enzyme produced by fresh-water algae, was seen tohelp break down abnormal fibrin gel (caused by free radicals). Fibrin gel maycause a thickening of the blood, thus reducing blood flow and possibly creatingblockages in smaller blood vessels, a leading cause of stroke and heart attack.
In a separate study, ProAlgaZyme was found to support thecompromised immune system of eight patients; it increased energy levels, weightgain and alertness during the first month of supplementation, according to thecompany.
