ConAgra Mills Introduces Stabilized White Bran, Germ Flour

OMAHA, Neb.ConAgra Mills® showcased a line of premium flours and multigrain blends, including recently-launched Ultragrain High Performance and NuFiber® wheat bran and germ flour, at the 2013 International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE).

NuFiber® is a nutrient-dense, stabilized wheat bran and germ flour milled from specially selected white wheat. Ultragrain High Performance features gluten strength, enhanced absorption, mixing tolerance and cost-reduction attributes.

ConAgra Mills uses its SafeGuard Treatment & Delivery System to ensure flour food safety. The Safeguard system is a multi-stage, all-natural process similar to pasteurization but does not denature gluten.

Earlier this year, ConAgra Foods signed an agreement with Cargill and CHS to combine their North American flour milling businesses to form Ardent Mills, a new flour milling company that will serve customers in the baking and food industries. The formation of Ardent Mills is expected to be completed in late calendar year 2013, following regulatory clearances, financing and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
