CRN Releases Supplement Book
November 5, 2013
WASHINGTONThe Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) released a new book, "Dietary Supplement Regulation in the United States, " in a series of Springer Briefs in food, health and nutrition on dietary supplement regulation.
The book focuses on various statues and regulations that oversee the dietary supplement industry, including regulations on dietary ingredients, manufacturing standard, safety and labeling claims. The book aims to advance the safe and consistent development, manufacturing and marketing of dietary supplements while preserving continued consumer access to beneficial products.
"Springer is pleased to work with CRN on this project and values its strong reputation for regulatory expertise, both from a theoretical and practical standpoint," said Susan Safren, senior editor, Springer. "It made sense for CRN to share its knowledge about dietary supplements through this brief. It will give readers a concise, yet thorough understanding of the legal requirements for these products."
The scientific publisher Springer worked with CRN to compile a comprehensive primer used as an educational tool and reference guide for dietary supplement companies, universities and law schools, journalists and regulatory professionals.
"Springer is known for providing scientific and professional communities with relevant, high-quality information on specialized topics," said Steve Mister, president and CEO, CRN. "CRN is known for our staff's depth of knowledge in the area of dietary supplement regulation and we are honored that Springer chose to collaborate with us in publishing this brief."
The book is now available on Springer's website.
