SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.Doctors Best Inc. will fully launch its initiative to add QR codes to its labels, improving consumer education and transparency.

The front panel QR provides a direct web link to education and information about a specific product, giving consumers a significant, yet simple manner to obtain product information via smart phone or tablet.

The FDA has long held a manufacturers website is an extension of its marketing, so Doctors Best is continuing its commitment to consumer education by providing an easy access tool to capture the wealth of product information available," said Scott Steinford, CEO of Doctors Best. "[The company] has conducted independent web reviews for both content and compliance to enable this QR code technology to provide Doctors Best consumers the ability to access the most up-to-date and complete education of product information available."

The front panel QR label initiative began in late 2012, and it is expected to be fully implemented by late 2013. To learn more about QR codes for product labeling, read the INSIDER feature "QR Codes in Marketing Natural Products."
