Girl Scout Cookie Features 'Super-charged' Ingredients

RICHMOND, Va.A new Girl Scout cookie offering brings not just a new flavor to the familiar line up of mint, lemon, sugar cookie or peanut butter, but also lays claim to an impressive nutrition profile. The new Mango Crèmes combine a vanilla and coconut cookie with a mango-flavored creme filling that the baker's website says is filled "with all the nutrient benefits of eating cranberries, pomegranates, oranges, grapes and strawberries."
It makes this claim based on a the inclusion of an ingredient from NutriFusion, LLC, called GrandFusion, that the company says utilizes "a unique scientific process that allows for the preservation of all-natural nutrients, that when added to foods and beverages, supercharges their nutritional value."
For the Girl Scouts and ABC Bakers, a division of Interbake Foods, Richmond, VA, that translates into a serving size of three cookies with 180 calories, a fat content of 8g and the following nutritional profile:
· 15% RDI (reference daily intake) of Vitamin B1 per serving
· 5% RDI of Vitamins A, C, D, E and B6 per serving
· Zero grams trans fats
· No hydrogenated oils
· No preservatives
