AACHEN, GermanyDuring the HiE exhibition held Nov. 16-18 in Madrid, the GNT Group showcased its spectrum of natural color concentrates made from edible fruits, vegetables and plants.

Colors in GNTs Exberry® range are derived through physical processes without the use of organic solvents. This is especially important in the EU, as all products now have to be labeled with a warning notice if they contain one or more of the Southampton Six" food colors: Tartrazine (E102), Quinoline Yellow (E104), Sunset Yellow (E110), Carmoisine (E122), Ponceau 4R (E124) or Allura Red (E129). The warning must read: May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children."

Since this labeling is mandatory, demand for natural alternatives that do not require either an E number or a warning notice has risen.

The colors in the Exberry range can be used without limitations. They do not require additive labeling, E numbers or warning notices, and thus are suitable for clean label products. Application possibilities for Exberry colors include beverages, confectionery, dairy and bakery products, soups, sauces and more.

GNT manages the whole supply chainfrom the selection of seeds through the contract farming to the final processing.
