Kyowa Hakko U.S.A, Inc. (Kyowa Hakko USA), the wholly owned subsidiary of KYOWA HAKKO BIO CO., LTD. (Kyowa Hakko Bio), has announced that Setria® Glutathione meets the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) monograph for glutathione.

“Recently, the USP dietary supplements compendium released the first monograph for glutathione. We were happy to see this standardization and we are happy to announce that Setria glutathione meets the new compendia." said Danielle Citrolo, PharmD, registered pharmacist and technical services manager for Kyowa Hakko USA.

Meeting monograph standards helps limit the introduction of potential adulterants and contaminants. It also serves as a quality benchmark in the purchasing of ingredients in the global marketplace.

A USP monograph includes the name of the ingredient or preparation, the definition, packaging, storage, and labeling requirements, and the specification. The specification consists of a series of tests, procedures for the tests, and acceptance criteria. These tests and procedures require the use of official USP Reference Standards.
