Publix Recalls Ice Cream Over Packaging Snafu

WASHINGTONPublix Super Markets, headquartered in Lakeland, Fla., is recalling Publix Premium Light Tiramisu Ice Cream in five states because they may contain the undeclared allergen, almond, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Jan. 28.

The recall involves cartons of Publix Premium Light Tiramisu Ice Cream that may contain coffee Almond Fudge Light Ice Cream. A packaging error resulted in Publix Premium Light Tiramisu Ice Cream bottom cartons and Publix Premium Coffee Almond Fudge Light Ice Cream lids.

The recalled ice cream cartons were shipped to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
