Raisins Recalled in NY Over Undeclared Sulfites

WASHINGTONPeekay International Inc., a Maspeth, N.Y., firm, is recalling Swan Golden Raisins because they may contain undeclared sulfites, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Jan. 26.
The recall involves 7- and 14-ounce packages of Swan Golden Raisins sold in the Brooklyn and Queens areas of New York City.
The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by food laboratory personnel revealed the presence of undeclared sulfites in the product.
