Tate & Lyle Joins Fight Against Childhood Obesity

DECATUR, Ill.Karl Kramer, President, Innovation and Commercial Development at Tate & Lyle was appointed to the Board of Directors of The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation. As a member of the Board, Kramer will provide counsel to the Foundation regarding ingredient labeling, product formulations and marketing.

The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation is a coalition of more than 100 food and beverage manufacturers and not-for-profit organizations. One of the Foundations key goals is to reduce childhood obesity.

Now, more than ever, it is critical for food and beverage manufacturers to help consumers make healthier food choices for themselves and their families," said Kramer. Joining the Board of Directors of The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation provides a great opportunity for Tate & Lyle to become more actively involved in the movement to reduce childhood obesity by 2015."
